UMBRIAN WINES

Our farm produces excellent grapes every year, thanks to which we make four different wines, two reds and two whites

VINEYARDS & WINES

"Casale Polegri" farm is located on a prosperous hill at an altitude of m 280 above sea level, with a perfect south-southwest exposure, predominantly clayey soils of medium texture, with sub-areas rich in limestone and gravel. The grape production insists on 8 hectares of vineyards, the average age of plants is 15 years, vines are planted with a traditional scheme of m. 3 x 1, density of plants per hectare of 3300 plants. The breeding is a double bilateral Guyot. Over the years we have dedicated ourselves to the specific production of vines of the Poggi di Baschi tradition, Trebbiano Procanico, Grechetto and Sangiovese, alongside them over time with Vermentino, Viognier and Merlot, grapes that have helped us to improve the structure and aromatic profiles of the wines. Fertilization is carried out in November and April with slow-releasing fertilizers of micro and macro elements, we do not use herbicides, preferring mechanical surface operations to control weeds. Pesticide treatments consist of copper and sulfur fungicides. The harvest is done mechanically except for the Sangiovese which is harvested by hand. About half of the harvest is sold to local wineries and half is vinified to reach a production of about 25,000 bottles per year.

WINES

The wines produced are the result of the natural and historical vocation of the land, local tradition and the personalities of those who have operated on these hills. We produce 4 wines, each with its own soul and identity, all connected to our history.
